Gorilla’s in the Mist
GORILLA PHOTOGRAPHY, PORT LYMPNE WILD ANIMAL PARK, KENT. Port Lympne and Howletts, it’s sister park are home to the largest group of captive bred Western Lowland Gorillas in the world. The mixed group at Port lympne are housed in the impressive Palace of the Apes, whilst the males are kept in a bachelor enclosure. In the garden enclosures there are no bars or fences which is Ideal for fantastic Photos with clean backgrounds with just fresh air between ourselves and our subjects.
Privileged Access to Gorillas
Close-up access is not available to the general public. On the VIP tour, it means that you can photograph and feed the gorillas little more than 5 to 15 feet away and you will be looking directly into their eyes at that same level. A quite amazing experience.
Photograph Baby Gorillas
There are currently two tiny babies that their mothers carefully caress in their huge hands. These mothers are so amazingly gentle with their babies which, compared to their mothers, are tiny. It is breathtaking just to witness the mothers delicately carrying them about in the enclosure, let alone to take stunning photographs. There are also two females that are obviously pregnant, so there should be more babies on the way. They truly are gentle giants.
Huge Silverbacks
The size and obvious power of the huge male gorillas at Port Lympne is awesome. They must be, pound for pound, one of the strongest animals in the world. A special feeding session can be arranged in advance.
VIP Off-road African Safari
On specially constructed safari vehicles we will get up close to the animals for a VIP African Safari Experience. The vehicle has open sides and there are no windows. This trip is quite different to the normal on road safari drive that the park operates. When we find an interesting subject we are able to spend time with them and are not rushed to move on. These animals' home is some 100 acres of quite rough terrain. It is in complete contrast to the normal flat fields of short grass that you find at many venues. The park also boasts the largest breeding collection of rare and endangered Black Rhino's outside Africa.
Barbary lions, Siberian and Indian tigers, various rare monkeys, small cats, tapirs, bongo, water buffalo, red pandas, and wolves are among other species that can be seen.
Set in 400 acres of beautiful parkland the park is overlooked by Port Lympne Mansion and gardens with amazing views across the Romney marshes.
A truly once in a lifetime experience that can be enjoyed by all the family.
